CryoMet

Metrology for reliable liquefied energy gases measurement

The project (24GRD07 CryoMet) has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed by European Union Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and from the Participating States.

CryoMet will perform a unique LNG flow meter calibration campaign

The world-leading capabilities of the CryoMet consortium will be used soon to perform a systematic investigation into the achieved field accuracy of liquefied natural gas (LNG) flow meters. LNG densitometers and composition measurement systems will be included in the calibration campaign as well. The calibrations are performed in VSL’s LNG facility, providing direct traceability to the SI-units of measurement. The measuring equipment is provided by globally leading equipment manufacturers EmersonEndress+Hauser, KROHNE, and TrigasDM

The information gained enables us to prove, beyond all doubt, which achievable accuracy can be met when transferring (and billing) LNG and liquefied biomethane. Reliable trading is supported where systematic (dis)advantages of the buyer or seller are avoided.
